Meet Andi – Our AI Phone Assistant

We use a smart AI phone assistant called Andi, which helps manage calls and ensures your request reaches the right team quickly and safely.

What is Andi?

Andi is a virtual care navigator (AI phone assistant) developed by Anima. It works like a friendly, automated receptionist, helping you submit your request when you call the surgery. 

When you speak to Andi, it will ask simple questions about what you need and securely send your request directly into our system for review by our team. 


How Andi Helps You

  • Faster access: Andi can answer many calls at the same time, so you don’t have to wait in long phone queues. 

  • Quicker routing: Your request is sent straight to the correct doctor, nurse, or team. 

  • Easy to use: You can submit your request over the phone, just like completing an online form. 


Important Reassurance

  • You are still supported by our team: Andi does not replace our reception staff — it works alongside them.

  • You can speak to a person: If you prefer, you can ask to be transferred to a member of staff at any time

  • All requests are checked: A member of our team reviews every request before any action is taken.


Safety and Privacy

  • Andi does not access your medical records. It only records what you tell it and passes that information to our team.

  • Calls are handled securely and in line with NHS data protection standards

  • If something sounds urgent, Andi will direct you to seek immediate medical help (e.g. 999 or A&E).
